Yes, I know. Those of you that know us well know that Parker (far right) looks NOTHING like this anymore, but this the most recent good pic I have so until we take our Christmas card for this year, this will have to do. (He’s taller than me, has doubled in weight since this picture and has a head full of hair that would rival John Travolta’s in Saturday Night Fever.) Top right is a bit closer, but he’s grown a few inches since then even.

But, for the most part, this is us. My name is Kari and my husband Drew (the really tall one) and I have been married for 21 years. We met in Northern Virginia, got married in Southern Virginia, moved to Columbia, SC where we did minor renovations on a 1920’s bungalow in Cottontown, and then did the all-too-familiar suburban thing of new house #1 in Apex, NC (the peak of good living) and newish house #2 in Cumming, Ga (thankfully there’s no tagline for this place).

Our beautiful daughter Emily has never in her life taken a bad picture and is the most compassionate person I know. Our son Parker is a typical 17 year old high school senior with no clue about where he wants to go or what he wants to major in but he loves cars and guitars and he intends to build a ninja course in our new backyard (if you aren’t familiar with American Ninja Warrior, click here. We are addicted)

We’ve always talked about doing a whole house renovation and when we saw this house for the first time, I knew it was the one (mostly because we had already made offers on 3 other houses and this was the one we actually were able to not have to get into a bidding war on).

So this is the house we will be tackling and I cannot wait. There is a blog post about alllllll that we have to do here, so feel free to check that out if you want all of the details (some of which may or may not end up happening, but I am dreaming big here to start). Thanks for reading and thanks for following us on this crazy journey. I can’t wait to see you on the other side.
