Where It All Began

I literally fell in love with the yard (yes, the same yard you see in that photo above) and my husband just wanted to run. I could spend all day, every day doing yard work (and you could probably write your name in dust on almost every surface inside my house) but the potential I saw here was crazy. This is not our forever home. This is our “2-3 years until I can convince him that I NEED to live at the beach home.” So we aren’t renovating it the way we would live there forever so much as we are for someone else to fall in love with it in a year or two.

There is a LOT to do here people. Every floor, every wall, every piece of trim, every ceiling, every bathroom fixture, every inch of the kitchen (especially the kitchen as it is where you will find me most of the time inside)….it is all going to get re-done.

We closed on the new house the day before our 21st anniversary. And my sweet hubby power washed this for me the next day. #helovesme…sigh

We aren’t new at this, but it ain’t our day jobs either. My husband is an incredibly talented man who can pretty much fix or build anything around the house…when he has the time or isn’t on the lake. So we bought this house as the summer was winding down and the boat was getting winterized and now we will spend every spare moment working on this little beauty.

And while we thought we would have some time, we ended up selling our current house in a month so we will be blogging and slogging our way through closing on our current house, getting the inspection items done and knocking out what we can on the new house before we move in.

Oh and we need a name for the new house, so feel free to share some ideas. As in, it’s what we will name our wi-fi and maybe even a cool little sign out front. Our across the street neighbors have dubbed their house “Harmony House” so we need something equally awesome.
